How do you determine which schools my student applies to?

Students often start with a dream list, as well as a few backups. In addition tothose, I’ll assess your students interests, academics, preferences, strengths,career aspirations, family needs, and a variety of other factors (along withaccumulated knowledge of colleges and universities) to suggest great-fitschools for their list.

Can you guarantee that my student will get into their first-choice college?

While I can’t guarantee a specific outcome, I make sure that my students are putting their best foot forward in their applications, and that they are applying to a variety of schools (including their dream schools!).

My student has a college counselor at their high school. Why should I hire a private college counselor?

High school guidance counselors are amazing at their jobs - and are often spread very thin (in many high schools, a counselor may have a roster of 250-500 students). Even if they don’t have a huge caseload, it’s rare for a high school counselor to be able to review each college essay multiple times before it’s submitted, or spend hours meeting 1:1 with their students. As a private counselor, I work with a limited caseload, and have the ability to provide high-touch services. I put 20+ years of expertise to work for your student in an intensive and focused way.

Do you counsel for graduate or advanced degree applications?

At this time, I don’t do graduate or advanced degree counseling. I’m focused exclusively on undergraduate applications.
